The Isuzu BU04 monocoque bus, brought back to life in the Reiwa era, has been faithfully recreated in this new model. Originally introduced during Japan’s period of rapid economic growth to meet the increasing need for transportation, the BU series became a widely used route bus. After a 1972 minor update, the 4.8m wheelbase model was designated as BU04, and many served the Kokusai Kogyo routes in Tokyo and Saitama. The specific vehicle modeled here, No. 3491, was an 1980 model that operated from the Akabane Depot before being transferred to Iwate Prefecture after its retirement in 2005. It was preserved by Tomytec, underwent a full restoration, and in February 2024, it was re-registered as an operational vehicle.

To commemorate the return of No. 3491, TLV-NEO is releasing a new version of the Isuzu BU04. This model captures its restored form, including a newly designed exhaust purification system (DPF) added to comply with modern diesel regulations. The body color is based on the actual paint used in the restoration, providing an authentic look. Both the interior and exterior details have been meticulously painted for enhanced realism.
